Please answer the following questions, reflecting on your experience today at the Ocean Institute, Dana Point.
- What did you find interesting? I found interesting that we found different things in the fish. My group found a shrimp that was inside the fish. We thought that it was squid but we found little black circles and the lady told us it was shrimp.
- What did you learn while on land at the Ocean Institute?
- What did you learn while on the boat at the Ocean Institute?
- How do people’s actions affect the marine (ocean) ecosystem?
- How can you apply what you learned today to your life? Is there anything you can do to try and help our ocean, its ecosystem, and our Earth’s water supply?
This is when we went to Safari Park. It was really fun because we got to learn how they recycle their water.
I didn't know that the Safari park recycle their water instead just tossing the water away. The people that was talking to our classroom that to clean the water it takes a lot of time. They also have to boil it to get certain germs out. They could of also futherlize it. I thought it was amazing. What we learned at the Safari Park and relates to our IB unit is that not many places have clean water like we do. We don’t have to go through a long time making the water clean. We just could get tap water or water bottle. We are lucky not to get dirty water and just drink it like the book we are reading A Long walk to water. Nya has to get dirty water from the lake and make to trips a day.
